Privacy Policy

Plain-English version: your data is yours, we don't sell it, and you can export everything any time. The detail follows.

This Privacy Policy describes how Mobieus, Inc. ("Mobieus," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use mobieus.io, our community platform, our APIs, our mobile applications, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who is the controller

Mobieus is the data controller for personal information about visitors to our marketing site, prospects, and Mobieus account holders. When you operate a community on Mobieus, your members' personal information is controlled by you — Mobieus acts as a processor on your behalf under the terms of our Data Processing Agreement.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information: name, email, password (hashed), organization, billing address.
  • Community content: the forums, posts, files, courses, members, and other content you create or upload.
  • Sales & support communications: messages you send through forms, email, or chat.
  • Payment information: handled by our payment processor; we store only non-sensitive metadata (last 4 digits, expiry).

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, performance and error metrics.
  • Device data: browser, operating system, IP address, approximate location derived from IP.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for authentication, preference cookies, and minimal first-party analytics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on the marketing site.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services.
  • Authenticate users and prevent abuse.
  • Send transactional messages — confirmations, security alerts, billing notices, service announcements.
  • Send marketing messages only when you have opted in. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing personal information are: (a) contract, where processing is necessary to deliver the Services to you; (b) legitimate interests, including securing the Services, preventing fraud, and improving the product; (c) consent, for marketing emails and optional analytics; and (d) legal obligation, where required.

5. How we share information

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf — hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics — under written contracts that restrict their use of the data.
  • Authorities when legally required, after carefully reviewing the request.
  • Acquirers in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third-party advertising networks.

6. Data retention

We retain account information while your account is active and for up to 90 days after cancellation, except where longer retention is required by law (e.g., tax, accounting). Community content is retained according to your subscription state and deleted on request following the procedure in your account dashboard.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights through your account dashboard or by emailing privacy@mobieus.io. We respond within 30 days.

Data portability: regardless of jurisdiction, every Mobieus tier ships with full data export — your members, content, and records, on demand, at any time.

8. International transfers

Mobieus is based in the United States. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries. For transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, supplemented as required.

9. Security

We protect your data with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest, application-aware firewalls, edge filtering, dedicated tenancy on Sovereign deployments, and a documented incident response process. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to reduce risk.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies

We use a minimal set of first-party cookies for session management and basic analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some features may not work without session cookies. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on the marketing site.

12. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the Services at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
