Why it matters
If your community knowledge lives in Notion, Confluence, or GitBook, your members maintain a separate login. Your permission model splits in two. Your search stops at the knowledge base boundary. Your contributor data lives on infrastructure you do not control.
mobieusKnow eliminates that split. As a community platform with a knowledge base built in, it shares the same identity, the same member directory, and the same trust model as the rest of your community. Members sign in once and access forums, help desk, courses, and the knowledge base from the same account.
This is the part that matters most. Open knowledge bases get vandalized. Locked-down ones go stale. mobieusKnow solves both problems with a three-path trust system.
Your members earn trusted status through any of these paths:
Trusted contributors publish edits directly. Their changes go live the moment they save. Untrusted contributors submit edits to a moderation queue. A moderator reviews, then approves or rejects with feedback.
Moderators can also block specific contributors from editing. Every trust change is audit-logged with the actor, the target, the action, and a timestamp.
The result: your knowledge base grows without requiring admin approval on every edit. Quality stays high because new or unknown contributors still go through review.
Every page uses a Markdown editor with a formatting toolbar. You do not need to know Markdown syntax to contribute.
The toolbar covers everything most pages need: bold, italic, inline code, links, headings, ordered lists, unordered lists, blockquotes, tables, horizontal rules, and image uploads. Click or use keyboard shortcuts.
Three ways to add images to a page:
The editor shows a live word count as you type. Tab inserts spaces instead of moving focus to the next field. Ctrl+Enter submits the page. A trust status banner at the top of the editor shows your current trust level, so you know whether your edit will publish immediately or enter the moderation queue.
A knowledge base is only useful if people can find things in it. mobieusKnow gives you four ways to navigate.
Every page can carry multiple tags. A browseable tag index shows all tags and the pages under each one. Tags also power the "related pages" feature: when you read a page, the sidebar suggests other pages that share the same tags.
Search across every page by title and body content. Results rank by relevance. No configuration needed.
Every page with h2 or h3 headings gets an automatic table of contents. Readers can jump to any section. Authors do not need to build it manually.
Every page shows reading time and word count. Contributor avatars appear on each page so readers can see who wrote and edited the content.
Every edit creates a new revision. The history view shows the author, timestamp, and edit summary for each revision. Diff tracking highlights exactly what changed between any two revisions. Moderators can roll back to any previous version with one click.
When an untrusted contributor submits an edit, it enters the pending edits queue. Moderators see all pending edits across the knowledge base in one view. Each pending edit can be approved (publishes the change) or rejected (with written feedback to the contributor). The queue is the single choke point, and it only applies to untrusted contributors.
